Pumpkin Patch Train ride

Way back on October, we took advantage of a friday off school and headed up to the pumpkin patch train that the Grand Canyon Railroad puts on every year.  It was super last minute, but luckily Carly was up for it and she met us there.  It was so fun to be able to hang out with them for a few hours.  We miss them so much!

of course we had to make a pit stop at Westside Lilo's in Seligman for lunch.

it was yummy as ever!  The kids were bummed that the table under the elk was taken though.

My Hannah was so helpful- she entertained the little kids and had such a great attitude the entire time.  I'm sad that she is growing up so fast, but so happy with the fantastic person she is growing into!

Sparkle was so fun!  She loved the train!!

All Aboard!

the train ride was about 20 min (slowly) and stopped at a "pumpkin patch" where everyone could get out and choose a pumpkin to bring home

Sparkle wanted all the pumpkins- it was tough to choose just one!

Lucky for her, big sister was there to help her!

Phew! Finally :)

Seriously- she loved her pumpkin and wanted to carry it everywhere

Becca boo and Sparkle with their pumpkins

My burgess babies (except Zach who had to work)

Once everyone had claimed their pumpkins, it was time to board the train again and head back to the station

There was a fun hay maze back at the station, and a haunted train car that a couple of my kiddos were brave enough to try- I was not!

It was a fun day trip and I'm super thankful we decided to try it out.

And of course, Becca and Logan were thrilled to spend a little time together.  These long distance relationships are so tough! lol

Thanks Youngs, for meeting us there! We miss you so much!

Have you met Lucy?

For the love!  Why do I even have a blog? ;)  Lucy Grace Burgess was born 4 months ago.  I Facebook and instagram so much these days I really haven't used the blog.

Here she is 10 pounds 9 oz.  The epidural did not work- I'm still not sure why they didn't believe me when I kept telling them I could feel every contraction.  I remember the look on the nurses face when they told me it was time to push and she lifted up the bag with the epidural medicine in it and it was completely empty!  I'm not sure what part of my body all that medicine ended up in, but it wasn't anywhere that helped with the pain.  I bet my face looked pretty priceless as it dawned on me that I was about to push this baby out with zero help from drugs!!  And I really didn't think I could- I remember saying, "I can't do this" multiple times.  It got pretty scary there for a minute- but it worked out and I got to meet the most beautiful little chubs.

So has completely made us all fall in love with her.  Here she is today.  4 and a half months old:

5 kids in definitely different than 4!  But I have the most amazing helpers who never complain when they are asked to help with Lucy.  And Lucy is a very laid back baby which really helps!

I would like to say that I will keep up the blog better- but that would be a lie ;) Someday when life calms down maybe, but not today :)

Evolution of a Goalie (or the day Hannah got paid $4)

This is Hannah.  Hannah likes to play goalie- when she feels like it.

This is how Hannah was trying to block goals when the game started.  She would bend over, which worked fine if the ball came right to her.

This is Hannah's ready position the first half of the game

This is Hannah after 4 goals had been scored on her- notice the face, she is over this whole goalie thing!!

This is Hannah's ready position at the start of the second half (she is deciding if she should take me up on my offer of $1 for every goal she stops- or tries to stop- by getting on the ground)

This is the only goal scored on Hannah the second half (notice she is on the ground=$1)

$2- she actually jumped on the ball after this pic was taken

$3- By george I think she's got it :)

This is after she got back up from earning her $4.  When the game was over, we had lost 5-3, but Hannah cheered and jumped up and down as if we had won!  She flashed 4 fingers at me as she came smiling off the field, I wish I would have gotten a pic of that- she realized that she had stopped them from a 9-3 victory and that felt pretty awesome!
Hopefully, she learned that when she applies herself, she can do anything!  I'm so proud of this little girl of mine :)
