Going on a bear hunt!

My fearless hunters were on the prowl. They heard that a bear was on the loose so they picked up their weapons:

I love that Zach's is a backwards fork!
Then they followed the scent

Then slowly approached the target

the take down!!

He's tougher than they thought! Notice Hannah's weapon is a spoon.

The trophy!

Not so tough are you now Mr bear! but still pretty cute.

I am so thankful that I was able to be there for the birth of my sisters baby. It is so different being on this end- and a lot less painful. April is such a trooper, she did so good. She ended up breaking her tailbone, though, and I know that it should not be funny, but I think that it is stinkin hilarious! but I do really feel for her. I mean, it is tough enough being a new mom and now (okay there are too many "pain in the butt" jokes to choose from here, so fill in your own).
but seriously, I am so glad that April and Roderick allowed me to share in this special time. they are going to be great parents and I am so jazzed to be an aunt again.

Hallelujah- and my happy place

SO Hallelujah is for me getting my computer back. I missed her so much- I know she's a girl because she is pink and I know that some guys can wear pink and pull it off, but my comp is all girl: pretty, quick, and sometimes moody.

Anyways, so having her back also means that I have all of my pictures back and that means that I have tons of things to post about. And what better way to avoid laundry than blogging. (although I probably will do loads in between-maybe)

So first, my happy place:

My super sweet hubby finally put my shelf reliance system together. It is fabulous!! There is a place for everything and I feel like I can really get my food storage in order now. If I need a break or things seem to be out of control at my house, I step in to this closet and I feel a lot better- seriously. It wasn't too hard to put together and they have them in lots of sizes, if you are interested look here
obviously I need to buy some food storage to fill up the shelfs, but now at lease I have somewhere to put it all. sigh- I am totally in love!

I'm still blushing!

So in the bank drivethru this morning, Jared asks to have his window down too. SO I roll it down and he looks at the guy in the bank window and shouts, "there's my Daddy." I was hoping that the microphone thing wasn't on but as I looked up I saw the bank guy staring back with a shocked look on his face. So yeah he heard. I smile at Jared and say, "no, where does your Daddy work?" He replies, "At the bank." I say (through gritted teeth) "no sweetie, where does Daddy work?" He thinks for a minute and then replies, "At the office." ( I breathe a sigh of relief) "At the office at the bank by the tire store, that's my Daddy." he says pointing again to the guy in the window. I look up in time to see the guy chuckling as he sends my receipt back and tells me to have a nice day! Now this really isn't as embarrassing now that I write it, but my problem is I am going to have to see this guy everyday now that i am doing the deposits for Dad. EVERYDAY! Maybe I will start going inside instead!
I'm still not sure why Jared thought the guy was Daddy. He looked nothing like him, the only thing that I can think is that he was wearing a blue shirt like one that Kerry wears a lot. Or he was just trying to be funny- his sense of humor is kind of like his dad's!

Yea for the blogger people

So I have been really frustrated with blogger the past couple of days. I wanted to change my background to a nice fall theme, because it is September after all! I know where I live it won't really feel like fall until it is almost winter, but I can live vicariously through my blog, right? Anyways, it would not work! When I looked at my change page elements page it was all great, but then when I would go to my actual blog it was as though I hadn't changed a thing. It was really annoying and frustrating! But then I emailed the blogger people and told them my problem, and then this afternoon I logged on and voila- the blog is fixed in all its fall cuteness! So today I love the blogger people. Hope you like it!

my future grammy winner!

SO it really cracks me up how Jared remembers songs. I don't really notice until I catch him singing them. He has surprised me with Beyonce's "irreplacable", Taylor Swift's "our song", Carly Simon "you're so vain" and most recently Leona Lewis's "bleeding love." Except, for his latest perfomance he has changed the words. He has decided that it is not a happy song, it is an "angry song." So listen to the real version, then try to sing it with Jared's lyrics:

(He really only knows the chorus)
"I don't care what they say, I'm in love with you.
I don't care what they say and I'm in hate with you. (then his dance break where he doesn't know the words)
You knock me over and I
Keep bleeding, I keep keep bleeding enough
ow that hurts! I keep keep bleeding...and clouds in my coffee, clouds in my coffee, cuz you're so vain."

He doesn't really sing it WITH the song, it's usually while he is playing so it makes more sense, and yeah I know at the end it morphs into a different song, but I think that he is pretty hilarious and if I could only figure out how to put a video on here, you could see for yourselves. Of course he mostly sings "girl songs" poor kid. That's what he gets for driving around with mom in the car all day long. The really funny thing is that if you ask him he "hates girl songs" and only wants to hear boy songs.

Just a reminder from my little love bug!

So earlier I was checking email and doing my daily blog stalking and Jared came up next to the computer. He was just hovering, so I told him to go play. He looked up at me with his big eyes and said, "Mom I just need to hug you for a minute." Well needless to say- the computer was put on hold while we cuddled. I scooped him up and had a good hug. I wanted to keep him there, but his minute was actually about 5 seconds. He says, "Mom, put me down- I HATE girls hair." I guess I was hugging too tightly.
But the whole thing got me thinking. How many times am I too "busy" for my kids? And how much longer are they even going to want to "hug for a minute" ? Hopefully, I can create an environment where they can always just come get a hug. My parents are good huggers, I can always get a hug from them. (Only occasionally Mom will ask what I want this time!) So anyways, if you are reading this- go find your baby or babies (no matter how big they are) and "hug for a minute" don't be too busy for them. Wouldn't it be sad if they were too busy for you?

Friends, Spies, and Superheroes!

I have been thinking a lot about friends lately. I have been really blessed with outstanding friends. The kind that seem to know when to call and cheer me up if I am having a bad day, the kind that take my kids if they can tell I need a break, heck one sweet friend just did my dishes while we talked. I love just hanging out and chatting with my friends- I am so lucky! And my kids seem to be just as lucky! It really cracks me up to listen to them play. The things that they come up with.

Over the summer Wednesday was Beck Wednesday. Our friends, the Becks came over to play. One time Hannah's friend, Arie, tried to play "spies" with Hannah. Now spies is not something that Hannah is familiar with and she wasn't quite getting the idea. She kept asking "Spy Arie" if she wanted to play barbies. "Spy Arie" would roll her eyes, put her hands on her hips and say, "Spy Hannah, spies do NOT play Barbies." Here is a pic of their sneaky spy walk.

Here are the spies taking a break.

Here is Jared and his friend, Tayton, with their superhero capes that my incredibly talented and super cute friend, Kali, made.

BTW don't you love how excited Tayton is? And check out the backs, so cute right?

So here's to friends! And spies! And superheroes!
