"Mommy I a tiger"

...or what Becca said when I found her with my lipstick all over her face. I'm still not seeing the conenction, but everytime she wants to put lipstick on she says she wants to be a tiger. Anyways, she's pretty cute so I wansn't too mad- except it was the longwear stuff and it lasted a couple days :( no bueno what can I say? She's a cheese-ball! And speaking of cheese, Zach wants to start his own blog and I'm still deciding of I'm going to let him. He had me take pictures when he made dinner last month so that he could blog about it. Yes, last month- supermom here, folks! Better late than never. I'm so thankful for Zach. Sometimes, I feel like he has grown up overnight! He is very helpful and wants to learn to do more things (like cook) on his own. He can now make scrambled eggs, mac and cheese, and ramen without help. I could totally send him on his mission tomorrow! hee hee He is really such a great kid! I love his sense of humor- most of the time, and how willing he is to help out. I rarely have to ask him more than once to do something. I'm not sure I am ready, but he is growing into a fantastic young man ready or not!

#27 sonic milkshakes (half price after 8pm)

So, this one was not super exciting.  We let the kids stay up so we could get cheap milkshakes.  Come to think of it, this is when the whole summer bedtime thing seemed to go out the window Sad smile our kids haven’t gone to bed before 9pm since!  Man, I really gotta get back on that.

Anyways, we d013rove to sonic- ordered yummy milkshakes and drove home Smile  but sometimes it’s fun to just get a treat without any craziness associated.

Someone was not super excited about even half-priced milkshakes.  I think I remember hearing some mumbling about even at half price they are too much!

But there was no grumbling from this end of the car!

Look how patiently they are all waiting

And once there was some sugar in his system, the grumbling pretty much stopped here too lol016

         Silly!!

Nelson cousins

We were so lucky in May to have almost all the Nelson cousins come visit.  (we missed you Sarah and Alora) My kids love their cousins and it has been torture having them live so far away!!  We tried to soak up as much as we can, but we definitely need to plan a cross country road trip soon Smile

Becca and Emma were practically inseparable!018

We got to celebrate KK’s bday while they were here.  And I am so grateful for the time I got to soak up with my sis!  It has been super hard for me having her so far.109

Zach is an awesome big brother (and oldest cousin)!

diet coke and potato chips: isn’t that your usual after shopping snack?130

Apparently we were playing way too much b/c these are the only pics I got.  Or it could be that we were moving right in the middle of all this Smile sigh…I miss them all already Sad smile  I’m really not a fan of this spread across the country crap!  Everyone come home! waaaaaaaaaah021

Mommy/Son date Beauty and the Beast

Jared and I got to go on a date to see the high school’s production of Beauty and the Beast last month.  008

It was awesome!!!  Of course I could be a little biased because my amazing nieces were in it Winking smile

009

010011It was great to hang with Jared.  It always is! Unfortunately by blogging about it a month later I don’t have any great book of Jared moments to share, but I’m sure there were many.  He wanted to sit in the front row- and had to get all the characters autographs at the end.  He may still be a little young for a play, because he kept asking if it was over and was convinced he would die if we didn’t get to eat lunch soon Smile007

#78 3-legged basketball

SO, for FHE last week we called the family and invited them to play 3-legged bball at the church.  Kory was afraid to get beat by me, so he chickened out ;)  But Kelly's family came and so did Greg and Carly (and they are practically family)

I didn't realize people didn't know what 3-legged basketball is but for the sake of my Canadian sis let me 'splain:  You get a partner, tie 2 of your legs together, and play basketball :)  Simple?  Hilarious! 202We started out using rope- but thankfully Kris had the foresight to bring bandannas.

The teams ended up pretty well matched Smile  Once everyone got the hang of it- it kinda worked! lol

Then Lauren got a phone call and I totally wiped out running backwards (still tied to hubby- not the best idea) so we switched it up and tried blindfold basketball- which Kris came up with.  One member of your team is blindfolded and is the only one who can score.  I should have got a few of the shots on video.  The boys would spend so much time lining up whoever is blindfolded so that they could make the shot, but I think only 1 actually made it in.  It was really funny!

It was such a great night- memories made and so much fun had!  I love my family!

And I just wanted to say how thankful I am that Greg and Carly are here- even if it is just for a bit. Because these 2 are so cute together:
