OKLAHOMA!!
The week was definitely memorable! I need to figure out a program on my Mac that will let me load pics onto my blog faster than one or two at a time. but here are few highlights:
starting the road trip! Grandma is a rock star and drove most of the time (it may or may not have been so she could avoid dealing with the problems that arose frequently from the back seats)
Chester's pumpkin patch- we rode ponies, did a corn maze, rode a super fun slide, and pick a pumpkin- oh and karaoke!
I will post more when I figure out how to get more pictures on without me wanting to throw the computer through the window ;)

MHS homecoming parade and game
This year I decided for whatever reason to give it another try. I even tricked, I mean, convinced Carly to give it a try. We got a pretty good spot and waited for the parade to start. then we waited some more. and then just for fun we waited some more. Seriously, I don't know what the deal was but it finally started. Sidenote: it was 103 degrees I will never understand why we can't have our homecoming in end of October/November
The kids spent their time waiting finding rocks to throw ;) and Hannah just loves babies! Hopefully, she didn't love Bella too much.
It was disappointing to me, but the kids loved it! We don't really go to a lot of parades so they don't have anything to compare it to ;)
There was a total of 3 floats (maybe 4) Including one with this cute girl on it! Made the entire parade worth it as far as I'm concerned. and a whole bunch of trucks carrying the homecoming royalty and maybe the sports teams but I couldn't really tell.
Some groups passed out melted starbursts and tootsie rolls (i'm telling you it was HOT and we were seated towards the end of the parade route)
Did I mention it was hot? hee hee
Good times Mohave! Maybe next year will be awesome!!
I actually really like going to MHS football games. My kids are actually kinda fun to take now that they are a little older. Homecoming was against Kingman and Kerry's nephew, Skyler was playing. The kids asked if it was okay if we rooted for Skyler if we were sitting on the Mohave side. We did get a couple dirty looks but my nephew is awesome!! And I can't help it if MHS is not so fantastic :)
It was great to be with Kerry's family and the Youngs and even Kasia and little Moses sat with us. I do like living in the town I went to high school in and supporting my alma mater. I can pretend it's not sweltering and they sell nachos :) I'm not sure whose bright idea it was to buy all the kids these super annoying green things, though. I'm secretly hoping they might a sad demise before the next home game
Soccer! Or what our life is lately :)
I have so much to catch up on as usual. We did not finish our 104 things of summer vacation (big surprise there lol) but we did a lot of them and I have a ton of pictures and posts to write. But I'm just gonna jump in to where we are now. school has started
And this is where we are every weekend.
Kerry is coaching Hannah's team with his brother. He claims to know nothing about soccer but I love watching him get excited when the girls are doing good.
Zach is on super good team this year- and it has made him up his game. He scored 2 goals his first game. Zach cracks me up b/c he is so coachable. The first game his team was up by 12 so the coach pulled his stars back and Zach got to play forward I told him that he should try to score a goal or two b/c he probably wouldn't get many chances to play forward this year with the team he has. (he's been playing mid-field a lot an running his little butt off) So he said "Okay" and just went and scored 2 goals in a row! :) Then this last game he was on defense which means he got to stand around a lot since his team is that awesome! But whenever the ball came anywhere near him he made sure to get it back to the forwards. I told him that he doesn't have to wait for the ball to come to him- if he sees it he can run up and take it and he did. It's so funny- like he had just never thought of that before :)
Anyways, I haven't seen a lot of Hannah's games because they always seem to be scheduled for the same time as Zach's and someone has to watch Zach (truthfully I prefer watching his games they are much more entertaining lol) But I did manage to get a few pics with my long range lens. I sat between both games and tried to watch both lol
Zach's team has not come close to losing a game while Hannah's team is just super cute ;) but have not come close to winning a game! but Hannah is having a blast and has such a good attitude all the time.
I'm thankful for the family time and I am thankful our other kids are such great spectators. Becca loves to sit in her "soccer chair" and yell "go BUBBY" or "go Sister" And as long as Jared has an iphone to play with he's good :) SOmetimes it gets really hot- but for the most part we love soccer game days :)

Book of Jared: Spiderman and kissing
Me: (apprehensively) why?
Jared: well, on SpiderMan 3 Peter Parker was married to Mary Jane but then he kissed Stacy...ON THE LIPS!
Me: Jared, I'm pretty sure Peter Parker was not married to Mary Jane
Jared: no, they were married- she was gonna marry someone who looked like Peter Parker, but then she didn't and ran to Peter Parker and they kissed...ON THE LIPS! So, they're married. So, spiderman shouldn't have kissed Stacy! BUT is it illegal?
Me: Well, it is not illegal to kiss someone else if you are just boyfriend and girlfriend, but it's really not nice and...
Jared: (interrupting) yeah, I guess it's not illegal, cuz they wouldn't want to put a superhero in jail! (walks away)
Me: (speechless- this kid cracks me up and boggles my mind at the same time with the way his brain works)
To be clear, I have not seen Spiderman 3 since it came out, so I'm not sure about the plot points he is talking about :) But he watched it the other day with Granddad
Also, I again justified to myself why PG13 movies are rated thus and our younger children should not watch them (ahem...Kerry)!
And- I do realize that I let Jared think that it is illegal to kiss someone else if you are married. But I am fine with him thinking that, because by golly it should be! hee hee

#27 sonic milkshakes (half price after 8pm)
So, this one was not super exciting. We let the kids stay up so we could get cheap milkshakes. Come to think of it, this is when the whole summer bedtime thing seemed to go out the window our kids haven’t gone to bed before 9pm since! Man, I really gotta get back on that.
Anyways, we drove to sonic- ordered yummy milkshakes and drove home
but sometimes it’s fun to just get a treat without any craziness associated.
Someone was not super excited about even half-priced milkshakes. I think I remember hearing some mumbling about even at half price they are too much!
But there was no grumbling from this end of the car!
Look how patiently they are all waiting
And once there was some sugar in his system, the grumbling pretty much stopped here too lol
Silly!!
and yummy!
Nelson cousins
We were so lucky in May to have almost all the Nelson cousins come visit. (we missed you Sarah and Alora) My kids love their cousins and it has been torture having them live so far away!! We tried to soak up as much as we can, but we definitely need to plan a cross country road trip soon
Becca and Emma were practically inseparable!
Hannah and Kaitlyn playing with stickers!
Jared was so excited that Parker got to sleep in his room!
Becca and Paige making their hair beautiful!
We got to celebrate KK’s bday while they were here. And I am so grateful for the time I got to soak up with my sis! It has been super hard for me having her so far.
Zach is an awesome big brother (and oldest cousin)!
diet coke and potato chips: isn’t that your usual after shopping snack?
Apparently we were playing way too much b/c these are the only pics I got. Or it could be that we were moving right in the middle of all this sigh…I miss them all already
I’m really not a fan of this spread across the country crap! Everyone come home! waaaaaaaaaah
Mommy/Son date Beauty and the Beast
Jared and I got to go on a date to see the high school’s production of Beauty and the Beast last month.
It was awesome!!! Of course I could be a little biased because my amazing nieces were in it
It was great to hang with Jared. It always is! Unfortunately by blogging about it a month later I don’t have any great book of Jared moments to share, but I’m sure there were many. He wanted to sit in the front row- and had to get all the characters autographs at the end. He may still be a little young for a play, because he kept asking if it was over and was convinced he would die if we didn’t get to eat lunch soon
