So, when we first moved back to Bullhead I was so excited about the Homecoming parade that I took the kids out of school early so we could get a good seat. Ha! Not necessary. I remember out homecoming parades being really cool and having a lot of floats. That year there were only a couple. SO the next few years we opted out of sitting in the heat for a lamesauce parade.
This year I decided for whatever reason to give it another try. I even tricked, I mean, convinced Carly to give it a try. We got a pretty good spot and waited for the parade to start. then we waited some more. and then just for fun we waited some more. Seriously, I don't know what the deal was but it finally started. Sidenote: it was 103 degrees I will never understand why we can't have our homecoming in end of October/November
The kids spent their time waiting finding rocks to throw ;) and Hannah just loves babies! Hopefully, she didn't love Bella too much.
It was disappointing to me, but the kids loved it! We don't really go to a lot of parades so they don't have anything to compare it to ;)
There was a total of 3 floats (maybe 4) Including one with this cute girl on it! Made the entire parade worth it as far as I'm concerned. and a whole bunch of trucks carrying the homecoming royalty and maybe the sports teams but I couldn't really tell.
Some groups passed out melted starbursts and tootsie rolls (i'm telling you it was HOT and we were seated towards the end of the parade route)
Did I mention it was hot? hee hee
Good times Mohave! Maybe next year will be awesome!!
I actually really like going to MHS football games. My kids are actually kinda fun to take now that they are a little older. Homecoming was against Kingman and Kerry's nephew, Skyler was playing. The kids asked if it was okay if we rooted for Skyler if we were sitting on the Mohave side. We did get a couple dirty looks but my nephew is awesome!! And I can't help it if MHS is not so fantastic :)
It was great to be with Kerry's family and the Youngs and even Kasia and little Moses sat with us. I do like living in the town I went to high school in and supporting my alma mater. I can pretend it's not sweltering and they sell nachos :) I'm not sure whose bright idea it was to buy all the kids these super annoying green things, though. I'm secretly hoping they might a sad demise before the next home game
